Kirtipur

Brief introduction to Tansen city:
The name Kirtipur comes from Kirti (Glory) and pur (city). As its name it is one of the glorious city of Nepal that contains many religious and historical sites. It is located 5 km south-west of Kathmandu City and has population around 50,000.

This city was annexed to Nepal by King Prithvi Narayan Shah in his third attempt.

Tribhuwan University which is the first university of Nepal is situated in this city.
